The Global Songbird Crisis side-event at CITES CoP20, Dec 2, 19:00–20:30

All participants of the CITES CoP20 are cordially invited to join a consortium of concerned NGOs and global partners for an evening side-event on The Global Songbird Crisis during the upcoming CITES CoP20 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Set to the songs of wild songbirds, this session will explore how the songbird trade crisis is global in scope, drawing on case studies from Southeast Asia, the Neotropics, and the Africa–Europe corridor to highlight shared dynamics and potential coordinated solutions, including CITES continued engagement.

Join us to explore how international trade in wild songbirds has become a global conservation, welfare and enforcement challenge. Drawing on case studies from Southeast Asia, the Neotropics and the Africa–Europe region, this evening side-event will examine common trade drivers, regulatory gaps and opportunities for coordinated action within the CITES community.
